Goodbye Everyone!

Honestly, I really, really enjoyed taking this class. I have never taken a writing course that allowed as much independence and freedom as this class does. I thought that the fact that we were able to completely choose what topics we wanted to write about kept the class fun and interesting! I really, truly believe that this class has helped me to improve my writing skills. I have never really had to be conscious about who would be reading the writing that I created for school. Because I was constantly aware of the fact that my writings would be read by potentially all of my classmates, I was always making sure that my work was as high quality as it could possibly be.

Another aspect of this class that I found to be really interesting was the fact that every week we were instructed to read at least 3 different classmates’ blog posts. I thought that getting to know other peoples’ writing styles was really cool and every single week I genuinely looked forward to seeing what my classmates had written about. There were some individuals, in particular, whose work I really had an appreciation for, so having the ability to constantly check in on their progress and writings throughout the semester was a really cool aspect of this course!

I also that that this class was a great way to relieve stress or any tension. I have always been a huge fan of writing, so the writing assignments due weekly allowed me to just sit down, listen to some music and aimlessly write for a few hours. As I previously said, the individuality that this course allowed is what took this class and the required writing assignments from work to something I looked forward to doing. I also thought that you were really involved, considering we have never actually directly spoken to one another. I felt as though I was supported and had someone that I could reach out to at any time during the duration of the course if I needed help or some questions about an assignment answered. I also thought that the inclusion of the peer-reviewing portion of this project was very smart! I am kind of sad that some people did not really take the peer-reviewing too seriously, but while it was going on, I felt as though I got good, genuine feedback on my writing.

I am sad that this class is coming to an end, but I am very glad to say that it has easily been one of my favorite courses that I have ever taken! I want to thank anyone reading this that has provided me some feedback or constructive criticism on my writing, and I look forward to seeing you all in person soon! Good luck everyone!

  1. Hey Drew, I just looked over your final project and I think it came out terrific. All your analysis pieces are very well written, and the original four from the starting eras are well expanded upon. I never would have thought to use any sort of tiles for a kind of condensed access to each piece of writing, it seems like a really clever solution and makes your website pop. Great work!
