My Love For Music
I am a firm believer in the idea that every person has one or two experiences in their lives that help to shape them into the people they are meant to be. For me, one of these experiences was going to my first concert. While this experience is one that seemingly would not have a big or lasting impact on my life, I truly believe that without it, I would be a much different person than I am today.
The first concert I ever went to was to see 5 Seconds of Summer with two of my friends at the Xfiniy Center in Mansfield, MA. Even though my taste in music has drastically changed since seeing them, the experience in and of itself was life changing for me. The environment was one that I instantly fell in love with. The concept of so many people, all with such a love for an artist, band or genre of music, packed into such a small space is extremely comforting to me. Concerts, for me at least, are a space where everyone can put all their differences aside and simply bond over their love for music. The concerts I go to now are a lot different than the first few I went to. I have developed a love for alternative, rock and metal music, and the concerts have a tendency to get very intense. For instance, I love moshing, which is a type of dancing that typically involves jumping and pushing into other people in the mosh pit. One time I was moshing at a concert I got accidentally pushed to the ground. I was immediately picked up and taken out of the mosh pit by the people that pushed me down. It is this sense of community and care that is displayed at concerts that I absolutely love.
My experiences at any of the about 35 concerts and music festivals have helped me realize my passion in life. While I do not play any instruments, sing or perform in any way, I know that I want to have a career in the music industry. Ideally, I would love to eventually work as a manager for bands and musicians or as possibly going into venue ownership. I very, very strongly believe that without having the experiences that I have had at concerts and music festivals, I would have had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. Concerts, music festivals and music as a whole have been the biggest influences in my life both in terms of happiness and in helping me to determine my goals and aspirations in life.

I enjoyed reading about your experience here, especially as someone who has gone to a bunch of great concerts at the Xfinity Center, too! I agree that there's something really magical about going to a concert (especially your first one!) and that it's the kind of memory that really sticks with you. Concerts are definitely something I'm missing about life these days. I hope to return to Mansfield soon for that communal music experience when it's possible!
