About Me
Avatar Drew
I have been a fan of reading, writing, art, music and just about anything that allows creative freedom for as long as I can remember. From a young age, I developed a love for authors and poets such as Stephen King, Edgar Allan Poe, J. D. Salinger and Kurt Vonnegut. This love and passion to keep reading grew more and more with every passing day, inspiring me to start creating my own stories. In fact, by the age of 14, I had begun writing a book that was looked at by several published authors, including Dennis Lehane, who has written books such as Shudder Island and Gone, Baby, Gone.
However, as is the case with most growing children, my likes and interests changed and evolved as I got older and had more life experiences. While reading and writing were huge parts of my childhood and early teenage years, in high school I discovered my love for both music and art. My freshman year of high school, I went to my first concert and I was instantly in love with the experience. Since then, I have been to over 30 concerts and music festivals that have made for some of the best days of my life. Around the same time I started going to concerts and music festivals, I discovered a newfound love for art, both traditional forms such as paintings, sculptures and drawings, as well as in the form of body modifications and tattoos.
I started getting tattoos as soon as I turned 18, and I was instantly in love with the experience. Getting tattoos felt like a way of expressing myself that I had never before felt. I quickly started doing research on tattoo artists in my area and I found one that I instantly connected with. Since, I have gone to her to get 16 of my 25 tattoos. Getting tattoos is almost like a form of therapy for me; in my times of stress, I book a tattoo appointment and walk out of the shop stress free and with a beautiful new piece of art permanently on by body.
Through reading and writing, I discovered my love for the horror and thriller genres. Authors like Stephen King and Edgar Allan Poe really influenced my writing and my love for all things horror. Some pf my favorite books include It, by Stephen King, The Catcher in The Rye, by J. D. Salinger, Catch-22, by Joseph Heller and Slaughterhouse-Five, by Kurt Vonnegut.
Music is easily one of the most important things in my life. Going to concerts and music festivals have been one of my favorite activities since my first concert four and a half years ago. Of the 30+ concerts I have been to, some of my favorites have been Marilyn Manson, Knuckle Puck, Slipknot, Bullet For My Valentine and Nothing More. Typically, I lean more toward alternative, rock and metal music. Some of my favorite bands and musicians, along with the bands previously listed, include Lincoln, Movements, Ice Nine Kills and The Wrecks.
I have developed a love and an obsession for tattoos since I first started getting them in October of 2018. In fact, I have gotten an average of more than one tattoo per month since I have gotten my first one. I now have 25 tattoos, seven of which I have actually done myself. I love tattoos, not necessarily for the meanings behind them, but for either the stories associated with the tattoos or for the artistic aspects of them. I believe that tattoos are an incredibly beautiful form of artwork and I look forward to getting more tattoos done throughout the rest of my life.

That is so cool that you immersed yourself in music and the concert atmosphere so young Drew. I am actually the opposite. I went to my first concert about a year ago to see Logic on his Confessions of a Dangerous Mind tour and enjoyed it exponentially more than what I originally thought. This being said I can absolutely related to your exposure into the concert scene and I am always looking to find another. It is also really nice how you relate the art of tattooing into a personal experience. I feel like this could open a lot of doors to how experience and art can be one in the same.
